Image licence

Last updated 20 October 2026

Images on RadLearn may be reused free of charge for non-commercial teaching and research, provided you credit the source and link back to the case page.

What is covered

Annotations, captions and page layout created by RadLearn are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0). The underlying images remain the copyright of the original source credited on each case page; where that source sets its own terms, those terms take precedence.

How to attribute

In a caption, slide or figure legend:

RadLearn — Case title, https://your-site/case-slug/ (CC BY-NC 4.0)

As HTML:

<a href="https://your-site/case-slug/">Case title</a> — RadLearn, CC BY-NC 4.0

Permitted without asking

  • Teaching, revision and student presentations.
  • Non-commercial courses and departmental teaching files, with the credit above.
  • Adapting a figure for a teaching handout, as long as the credit and case link are kept.
  • Printing for classroom use.

Not permitted without written permission

  • Commercial use, including paid courses, apps, textbooks, stock libraries or training datasets.
  • Removing the credit, the annotation or the link to the case page.
  • Using an image in a way that suggests RadLearn endorses a product, service or a specific diagnosis.
  • Reuse of any image containing identifiable patient information beyond what the original licence allows.

Third-party images

Some cases are reproduced from open teaching collections. The source is recorded on each case page, and that source’s licence takes precedence over this page. If an image has been credited incorrectly, tell us and we will correct or remove it.

Commercial licensing

For commercial use, write to us through the contact page with the case URL and the intended use. We answer within five working days.

Removal requests

If you hold rights in an image and want it removed, send the case URL and the basis of your claim. Verified requests are actioned within five working days.
